Homemade Dog Food PDF Print E-mail

Part one:
Ingredients:
Carrots – 3 (16oz) cans – do not drain
Green beans – 3 (16oz) cans – do not drain
Broccoli – 1 (10oz) package frozen, chopped
Pinto or kidney beans – 1 (16oz) can
Peas – 3 (16oz) cans – do not drain
Tomatoes – 3 (16oz) cans – do not drain
Greens (kale, spinach, or mustard) – 1 (16oz) can
Directions:
Boil the broccoli in two cups water until tender. Combine with other vegetagles in a bowl. Using a blender or food processor, puree until smooth. You will need to divide into smaller batches to do this. Fill 18 one-pint plastic containers and freeze.

Part Two:
*RICE (MAKE AS NEEDED)
Rice – 2 ½ cups uncooked plain white rice
Safflower oil – ½ cup
Water – 5 cups
Salt – 1 teaspoon


Directions:
Bring all ingredients to a boil in a large sauce pan. Reduce heat and simmer until water is absorbed, about 15-20 minutes. Cool. Recipe makes 4.5 pounds of rice. And finally, bring it all together:
*THAW ONE PINT OF VEGETABLE PUREE AND ADD THE 4.5 POUNDS OF RICE. MIX THOROUGHLY
*FEED ½ TO ¾ CUP PER TEN POUNDS OF YOUR PET’S BODY WEIGHT, TWICE DAILY

Feed twice a day.
